College Station boasts the main campus of one of the best universities of Texas, the Texas A&M University. It is also home to the Flagship institution of the Texas A&M University System. The university has an enrolment of nearly 45,000 students. Allen Academy is an independent school, which serves grades PK-12. The College Station Independent School District is the chief school district here. This school district comprises A&M Consolidated High, A&M Consolidated Middle and College Station Middle, Cypress Grove Intermediate and Oakwood intermediate schools. The six elementary schools here are the Southwood Valley Elementary, South Knoll Elementary, Rock Prairie Elementary, Pebble Creek Elementary, Forest Ridge Elementary, and College Hills Elementary.

There are many local parks here. Few of them are Castlegate Park, Eastgate Park, Parkway Park, Edelweiss Gartens Park, University Park and W.A. Tarrow Park. The Messina H of Winery & Resort and the Northgate are huge tourist attractions. The Northgate is undoubtedly the most vivacious part of the city. The spot is famous for its live music scene and a grand mix of restaurants. Tourists can head to the Northgate for some dancing and grooving combined with fantastic dining. Other local attractions include the Benjamin Knox Gallery, Adamson Lagoon, the Brazos Valley Museum of Natural History, and Wolf Pen Creek Park and Amphitheater.

Besides these there is the George Bush Presidential Library and Museum, which is the presidential library of George H. W. Bush, the 41st President of the United States. Another interesting spot for tourists is the D. A. “Andy” Anderson Arboretum. It was originally named the Brazos County Arboretum, and contains a shelter and an interpretive trail system that describes native Texas plants. The museums sited are the J. Wayne Stark University Center Galleries, Sam Houston Sanders Corps of Cadets Center, MSC Forsyth Center Galleries and also the popular Children of the Brazos Valley. This special children’s museum gives an opportunity to the kids to learn through exciting activities and educative displays.
