San Augustine is a town in San Augustine County of the U.S. State of Texas. It is the county seat of San Augustine County. The town is located in East Texas.

The San Augustine Independent School District (ISD), a public school district, serves the town. The district calls itself the ‘Home of the Wolves’. This reputed school district serves both Northern and Eastern San Augustine County and also extends into a small portion of Shelby County. The district comprises the San Augustine High serving grades 9-12, San Augustine Intermediate meant for students 5-8 and San Augustine Elementary serving grades PK-4. It also boasts an Accelerated Learning Center, which is an Alternative Campus for the senior grades 9-12.
