Bellaire, Texas – An Overview

The city of Bellaire in the Harris County of Texas is located 146 miles from Austin (capital of Texas) within the Houston-Sugar Land-Baytown metropolitan area. It is bounded by total area of 9.4 km² (3.6 mi²), all land. The city has six namesakes within US, but it is the city of Bellaire in Texas which is often hailed as the best-known city with the name.

William Wright Baldwin, who was the president of the South End Land Company, founded it in 1908. Baldwin stated the town as "Bellaire", or "Good Air" for its breezes. Rightly called the ‘City of Homes’, Bellaire is mostly residential with good breezes all around. It takes the credit of being one among the wealthiest locations in Texas on the basis of per capita income.

Bellaire is made up of enclaves. They include Bellaire Place, Bellaire Courts, Bellaire Oaks, Teas Gardens, Westmoreland Farms, Holly view, Post Oak Terrace, Carroll, Evergreen Plaza, Mulberry Manor, Brae burn Gardens, Oak Terrace, West Post Oak, Cedar Oaks, Twin Oaks, Belleview, Peaceful Valley, Oakdale, Heart of Bellaire, Braeburn Country Club Estates and lots more.

Pupils living inside of the 610 loop in Bellaire look up for elementary school education to the Horn Academy, while students outside of the 610 loop can choose either of Condit Elementary School or Lovett Elementary School, the latter of which is located in Houston. Gabriela Mistral Early Childhood Center for toddlers, Pin Oak Middle School and Bellaire High School are some other prominent educational institutions here. The Houston Community College System also serves Bellaire.
